The Federal Government appointed Country SA PHN to enhance the delivery of focused and appropriate health services to the rural communities of South Australia.

The goal of the organisation is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of health services for people particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes, improve the coordination of health services, and increase access and quality support for people.

Job Description

The Role

An exciting opportunity has become available within our Performance, Quality and Information Systems Team.
The Health Data & Analytics Officer will support the population health planning, service design and prioritisation functions of CSAPHN through the identification, analysis and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data and evidence by working with key stakeholders to identify and translate information in the context of understanding local health and service needs.

The Health Data & Analytics Officer will primarily be responsible and accountable for:

  • Analysis, interpretation, and translation of complex data to inform decisions and planning relative to internal operations and service commissioning
  • Provide reports and analysis of findings to a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and implement methods and systems for acquiring, compiling, synthesizing, extracting and reporting information
  • Maintain and support the development of a research and national/local data library to complement and supplement the Needs Assessment and inform CSAPHN service planning and commissioning processes

Country SA PHN offers a flexible working location with offices located around the state. Working within a country location is preferred.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

You will be a skilled an experienced data analyst, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple projects and priorities, and have a demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

A quick learner, you will be able to take on the varied responsibilities of the role. More specifically you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in epidemiology, public health or health informatics and/or equivalent experience in population health data analysis and reporting
  • Experience in the analysis and interpretation of complex health datasets
  • Experience in the communication of complex information to a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience in the use of qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Ability to independently solve problems and manage personal work priorities
